It seems that Forrest Gump cast is having some nostalgic moments. Recently, the lead character of Forrest Gump, Tom Hanks, shared a classic picture posing with his co-stars Mykelti Williamson (who played Bubba Blue) and Gary Sinise (who played Lieutenant Dan Taylor) on his WhoSay account. It seems that they are telling us again that "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get."
The Forrest Gump team is actually celebrating 20th anniversary of the film. Is it quite odd that they are still celebrating it after two decades? Well, it is not hard to believe and such films are worth celebrating.
"Hadn't seen these old friends for too long. Hanx," the two times Oscar-winner star captioned the epic picture. That's all he said. Maybe he was short of words to further express this awesome moment with old friends.
Hanks had won his second Academy Award for his outstanding and memorable performance in the Forrest Gump; he got the first Academy Award for the film “Philadelphia”. Williamson played the unforgettable and emotional role of Gump’s army friend, Bubba Blue, while Sinise had played the role of their platoon leader Lieutenant Dan Taylor. Well, it is quite sad that Mrs. Gump (Sally Field) and childhood love Jenny (Robin Wright) were not in the picture. The picture would have been more awesome if Robin Wright had also been included.
The film has turned out to be all times classic motion picture. It was directed by Robert Zemeckis who had won Oscar Award under the category of Best Director. Overall, the film grabbed 6 Oscar awards including Best Film and Best Actor, while Sinise was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor.
Hanks currently said during a Questions & Answers with fans on Reddit that he still occasionally gets sentimental and nostalgic when he watches or recalls any specific part of this 1994 romantic comedy-drama. He was questioned, what is the particular performance from this film that actually causes strong feelings of friendliness or compassion, he replied, "When LT. Dan introduced Forrest to his wife, with his titanium legs, I burst into tears..."
Tom Hanks recently appeared in Paul Greengrass’ Hostage Drama “Captain Phillips” and John Lee Hancock’s Biography Drama “Saving Mr. Banks”. Sadly, he has been snubbed for Oscar Nomination despite his outstanding performance in both films.
What do you think about the special reunion of Forrest Gump Cast?
