2013 ended with yet another big DC film news. It seems that the hunt for a perfect cast line up for the upcoming DC comic movie “Batman vs Superman” is not ended yet. Famous wrestler-cum-actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has recently revealed during his end-of-year "Rock Talk" on social media site “Twitter” that he is in talks with Warner Bros. for a DC Comic role in a movie. He tweeted, “We just had a big meeting w/ Warner Bros CEO re: @DCComics 2014 we will partner up and create the cool bad assery. #RockTalk.”
He kept the name of particular role and the movie secret, leaving us to keep speculating about it. Dwayne is most likely under consideration for the role in highly-anticipated "Man of Steel" sequel Batman vs Superman, as it is the next big DC Comic film by Warner Bros. Judging by his tweet, it seems that he is quite hopeful to get the role. If it happens then you must be wondering which role “The Rock” would be playing, a hero or villain?
Well, from the “cool BAD assery” (as he stated in his tweet), we can judge that perhaps he is under consideration to play a villain. But, it’s only our speculation, maybe he is going to play an anti-hero.
Previously, Dwayne has long been bruited for a DC film character including Black Adam and Lobo. Since he has already been fan-casted in all characters from Lex Luthor to Bizarro and from Martian Manhunter to Doomsday and Darkseid, he could factually be anyone of them either in Batman vs. Superman or in any other completely different DC film. It is hard to anticipate which role he would be playing. But, for now, it all depends on whether or not he is casted for any role in highly anticipated film.
What makes fan more curious about this news is that it comes very soon after the current rumors about Jason Momoa (who played Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones) and Joaquin Phoenix both in talks with Warner Bros. to play anti-hero and villain respectively in Batman vs. Superman. But, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Ben Affleck as Batman are only confirmed cast yet, all others are casting rumors. We will have to wait for official announcements regarding the cast of the DC movie.
What do you think about “The Rock”s recent tweet? Do you think he has been cast in Zack Snyder’s Batman vs Superman? Which DC character perfectly suits him?

ReplyDeleteI think a villain would really suit him, but not as a hero.
