Thomas Kretschmann to Join Villainous Force as von Strucker in Avengers: Age of Ultron

While we all are aware of who is going to play the main villain role in The Avengers’ upcoming sequel – James Spader as deceitful artificial intelligence Ultron – the Director Joss Whedon evidently wants to present a greater challenge for Universe’s Most powerful Heroes. Consequently, Thomas Kretschmann has been casted as Baron Wolfgang von Strucker to join the villainous force. According to the Comic Books, Strucker is a German warrior defaced by facial scars who turned out to be Hitler’s one of the best fighter during world war. He got involved in furious fight with both Chris Evans’ Captain America and Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, and then joined the forces of Hydra, proving to be an extremely influential person in its sinister plans.

Thomas Kretschmann has recently been admired and recognized for his role Abraham van Helsing on NBC’s new TV show “Dracula”. In addition, he is also known for famous movies like “Wanted” opposite Angelina Jolie, Peter Jackson’s “King Kong”, “Resident Evil”, “Valkyrie”, “Downfall”, etc.

So, Kretschmann as Strucker will once more be a big problem to deal with for the Avengers Heroes including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawk Eye (Jeremy Renner), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), though his story doesn’t spell out whether he will appear in flashback to the era of Hitler, or will (probably) be a menace in this modern era. In addition, we will also get to see franchise’s new entries Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Kick Ass actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver. Don Cheadle will also be joining the team as James Rhodes, friend of Iron Man.

Johansson lately discussed Whedon’s script for the “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, saying, “It doesn’t lose that exciting comic-book aspect that people enjoyed in the first film, but it’s smart and it feels like the next installment. It doesn’t feel like a rehashing, it feels like these characters are moving forward, plot lines are moving forward.”

The sequel will be launched in cinemas around the world on May 1, 2015, while the Production will be started next month. “Marvel’s The Avengers” was a great success on the box office, grossing over $1.5 billion throughout the world.

What do you think about Kretschmann’s cast as Baron Wolfgang von Strucker? Do you think he will prove to be a great villain in the evil company of James Spader as Ultron?
