Daniel Day-Lewis Has Been Announced to Present the Oscar 2014

One of the today’s greatest actors of Hollywood – Daniel Day-Lewis – has been announced to present the Oscar this year. Last week, Jennifer Lawrence was announced to present the Academy Awards. Both actors had won the Oscars last year and it seems that producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron want a pair of Best Oscar Winner Actor and Best Oscar Winner Actress to present the show.

Daniel was awarded with Oscar for his awesome performance as 16th president in the Steven Spielberg’s historical drama “Lincoln,” turning out to be the first actor who grabbed the Best Actor award 3 times. He had won his first Oscar award in 1989 for his best performance in film “My Left Foot”, and then he got second win for his performance as ruthless business man in “There Will Be Blood” in 2007. He was also nominated for his iconic roles in “Gangs of New York” (2002) and “In the Name of the Father” (1993). Lawrence won the best actress award for her performance as a disturbed young widow in the David O. Russell drama "Silver Linings Playbook".

According to various media sources, “Django Unchained” star Christoph Waltz and “Les Miserable” star Anne Hathaway are also under consideration to be the presenter of the show. Waltz and Hathaway also won Oscars last year. Customarily, the 4 Academy Award winners are joining forces to present Oscars. Waltz won award for his outstanding performance as Bounty Hunter in Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained”, while Anne Hathaway was awarded for her brilliant performance in “Les Miserable”.

The Academy Award show will be staged on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre. Famous TV show host Ellen DeGeneres has already been announced to host the show few months back. Prior to declaring the names of the show’s presenters, producers Zadan and Meron has publicized that U2, Idina Menzel, Pharrell Williams and Karen O will perform their respective original theme songs which have been nominated for Oscar.

Karen O will sing her song "The Moon Song" that she composed for Spike Jonze’s Oscar nominated film "Her", while Idina Menzel will sing today’s most popular song "Let It Go" from Disney’s animated musical film "Frozen". U2 will sing "Ordinary Love" that have been written for "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" and finally Williams will sing "Happy" from animated film "Despicable Me 2."
