Who are the most trustworthy celebrities in the eyes of fans and film makers? Forbes has made a list of top trustworthy celebrities of the years and phenomenal two-times Oscar winner Tom Hanks tops the list! The celebrities have been listed through a survey, poll, a combination of their reliable and appeal scores. In order to evaluate the list, Forbes used E-Poll Market Research ranked above six thousands celebrities on almost 50 diverse personality aspects. Tom’s trustworthy score is 25, while his appeal score is 81, edging out all other celebrities with a total score of 106.
Tom Hanks may not be nominated for the Academy award this year, but he is still one of the best actors and is much-loved by the fans and general public. His top ranking could be ascribed to the verity that he is inclined to play the pleasant, respectable, and heroic movie characters like “Castaway”, “Captain Phillips”, “Green Mile”, "Saving Mr Banks” and also has an appealing status outside the frame of the cinema. Last year, he was also ranked at first place in the Reader’s Digest Trust Poll 2013, topping Sandra Bullock, Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep and Maya Angelou, who were ranked at second, third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.
“Trustworthy, like influential, can be very subjective descriptors based on the nature of their celebrity. For the most part, it reflects how genuine people perceive that person to be,” says Gerry Philpott, head of E-Poll Market Research. “It positively impacts a celebrity’s ‘brand’ for getting top roles and endorsements if consumers see them as credible and believable.”
Carol Burnett has been ranked at number 2, followed by the Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman who is ranked at third position. If we look at top five celebrities, then “Back to the Future” star Michael J. Fox takes 4th place while Betty White has been placed at 5th spot.
In the past, Morgan Freeman was ranked at top of the list of trustworthy celebrities. He is one of the few reliable stars who make the most of their strong public representation and fan base to shill products. Anyone seeing the today’s Olympics frequently listens to his discrete voice in Visa ads. He scores 21 for reliability and an 82 for appeal.
So, do you agree with the list? Who should be at the top of the list as per your views?
