Quentin Tarantino is working on another Western Film “The Hateful Eight” Starring Christoph Waltz


Quentin Tarantino is one of the top ten and highest admired directors of the Hollywood and many people wait with bated breath for his upcoming films.  All the Tarantino fans got very excited when it was announced few weeks ago that Tarantino is working on another western project, which is not new subject for the famous director following box office hit “Django Unchained”. Today, there is some more information about the Tarantino's upcoming film. As per a number of media sources, the name of the new film is announced as “The Hateful Eight”, which is most likely to kick off shooting as soon as this summer.

“I haven’t told anyone this publicly, but I will say the genre: It’s a western. I had so much fun doing ‘Django,’ and I love westerns so much that after I taught myself how to make one, it’s like ‘OK! Let me make another one now that I know what I’m doing,” Tarantino said.

Several media sources are reporting that Tarantino has finished the film’s script and is recently shopping the script around to the potential film cast. The casting course has started, with some film insiders signifying that Victoria Thomas is assisting Quentin in coming up with a great casting choice.


One actor of the film has been confirmed, while another is under consideration. Tarantino has written a part of the script particularly for Oscar winner Christoph Waltz, who also starred in Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds and has turned out to be something of a go-to actor for Quentin. Bruce Dern is one of top options to play the lead. Bruce is benefiting from a huge success of his box office hit film Nebraska.  He also appeared for a brief part in Django, which was sufficient to come under Tarantino’s radar.

Pilar Savone is expected to produce the Tarantino’s new western film, while it is yet not confirmed that who is going to sponsor or deal out the movie. Tarantino's very old association with the Weinstein Co. signifies that it is going to be one of the primary priorities in this regard and will probably work out to put this mega budget project together.
