Bradley Cooper Will Play Lead Role in Ben Sanders’ “American Blood”

“Hangover” star Bradley Cooper is seemingly being picked for the trifecta for appearing in mega budget movies whose titles start with the word “American.”

He has currently been nominated for Academy Award under the category of Best Supporting Actor for his outstanding performance in David O. Russell's Oscar nominated film “American Hustle”. He is working on his next project Action Thriller “American Sniper”, which will be directed by Clint Eastwood. Now it has recently been announced that he has also been tapped to play a lead role in Warner Bros’ crime thriller American Blood, which Bradley will also produce through his Warner-based 22nd and Indiana label together with Le Grisbi Prods.

This film will be based on forthcoming novel written by author Ben Sanders, who published his first novel, “The Fallen,” at the age of 20. Andrew Sodroski has been announced to write the screenplay. He is currently working on project “Holland, Michigan” that stars Bryan Cranston and Naomi Watts as lead characters.

According to a number of media reports, Warner Bros. has gained the rights to the Ben Sanders novel, which centers on an undercover New York Police Department officer named Marshall Grade, who turns into a mob informant and gets attached to a risky inquiry about a lost woman while dwelling in witness safety in New Mexico.

This film is projected to be a big franchise. However, it has not yet been announced who is going to helm the project. Warner Bros is in talks with various renowned directors in this regard. With a famous and phenomenal actor like Bradley Cooper starring in the project, American Blood seems like it could turn out to be a blockbuster film with a convincing story, on condition that Warner Bros. picks the most suitable director that has the potential to make it so.

Bradley Cooper’s next film “Guardians of the Galaxy” will be launched on 1st August. In this film, Cooper has done voice acting as Rocket Racoon. He has been nominated for Oscar for the Best Supporting Actor for his outstanding performance in “American Hustle”. He is also working on Cameron Crowe’s latest, untitled romantic comedy that is projected to release in the US cinemas on Christmas Day, but it is not confirmed when it will be released in UK.

So, what are your views about Bradley Cooper’s casting as undercover cop in “American Blood”?
