Amanda Seyfried to Star in Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2

As per a number of media sources, the actor, producer and writer Seth MacFarlane has announced that Les Miserables star Amanda Seyfried will play main female character in his upcoming Ted sequel. Mark Wahlberg will reprise his lead male role as John Bennett, while Seyfried will appear as his girlfriend. Mila Kunis, who played lead female role in Ted opposite Mark Wahlberg, may not appear in upcoming Ted 2.

In the original film, Mark Wahlberg’s character John Bennett tied the knot with Mila’s character Lori, at the end of film, but seemingly Mila will not reprise her character.  As per a number of media reports, this decision was not due to any animosity between Mila and the director Seth.  It is just the imaginative direction of Seth who desires to bring some better change in the sequel’s plot. However, some of the media sources are reporting that Mila may have a small role in the sequel, but it is not confirmed yet. Mila is still lending her voice to famous character Meg in MacFarlane’s highly admired TV show Family Guy.

Amanda has previously worked in dark comedy films including, Karyn Kusama’s “Jennifer’s Body” opposite Megan Fox.  She actually rose to fame for her outstanding performance as oblivious Karen Smith in “Mean Girls” opposite Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams, but she has since then appeared in various big movies, such as Dear John, Lovelace, Red Riding Hood, Chloe, Les Miserables and Mamma Mia!

Amanda had previously stated in an interview that she was always ready to do what it takes to land a character.  ”Three years ago, a director told me I wasn’t made for a certain role and he didn’t want to meet me. I called up the casting director and begged him to let me have a trial. I went and he once again told me it was a no,” Seyfried said.  ”They gave the role to someone else: but it didn’t matter, I just wanted to be sure I had done my best.”

Besides Ted sequel, MacFarlane and 28-year-old actress have also co-starred in latest comedy film “A Million Ways to Die in the West”, which is written and directed by MacFarlane and will be released in cinemas across US on May 30th, 2014. MacFarlane will be co-write, helm as well as produce the Ted 2 that is set to launch on June 26, 2015.
