Gary Oldman Says Ben Affleck Will Do Fine in Upcoming Batman vs Superman

It seems that immense public outcry on casting of Ben Affleck as new Batman has compelled some of the celebrities to give their remarks over this matter. We don’t know what other celebrities say about casting Ben Affleck as Batman, but phenomenal actor Gary Oldman, who played the role of Commissioner Gordon in Dark Knight Franchise, has not only come clean on his views about Ben Affleck’s Batman role, but has also given a noteworthy advise to Affleck regarding it.

When he was questioned by media to give his remarks what he thinks about public criticism over Ben Affleck as Batman, he suggested Ben Affleck not to pay attention to what the people, who don’t like him as Batman, has to say about him. He further said that now he is very much fascinated to see how Affleck will live up to the role of Batman after Christian Bale made a great signature on it.

"He's got a hard cowl to climb into because I thought Christian had made such a signature on it, but Ben is a wonderful actor, so I'm intrigued to see what he does." Oldman said.

When he was asked if he had any suggestion for Ben after he faced immense criticism around the world for his casting as Batman, Oldman said, "All that stuff is always crazy. If you listen to the fans all the time we wouldn't have remade Robocop. No-one would have made Batman. Ben will do fine. I think he'll do fine."

Ben will appear Zack Snyder's Batman vs Superman opposite Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons have been currently included in the cast of the project. Eisenberg will appear as iconic villain Lex Luthor, while Irons will play the role of Batman’s Butler Alfred. Casting of “The Social Network” star Jesse Eisenberg as the Lex Luthor is also being criticized by DC comics’ fans. Earlier, Israeli Actress Gal Gadot’s casting as Wonder Woman was also much criticized. The film has been set to be launched in theaters in 2016.

Gary Oldman is known as one of the greatest versatile actors and he had played several iconic roles throughout his long acting career. He was recently awarded with the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film at the 2014 London Critics' Circle Awards.

No matter what people say, at least, a great actor Gary Oldman is sanguine about Ben Affleck’s casting as Batman.
