Jared Padalecki is Facing Criticism for Ostensibly Offensive Tweet about Hoffman’s Death

While all celebrities and fans are very distressed over the sudden demise of Philip Seymour Hoffman and paying tributes in their own ways, some celebrities like Supernatural star Jared Padalecki are being grilled for their ostensibly offensive remarks about the death of Hoffman. After the demise of Hoffman, celebrities like Tom Hanks, Justin Timberlake, Kevin Spacey, Anna Kendrick, Ellen DeGeneres, Ricky Gervais, Aaron Paul, Channing Tatum, Jim Carrey and Mia Farrow offered their condolences for the much-loved actor through twitter, But Padalecki had a diverse take on Hoffman's awful death. He is definitely sad over the loss but he expressed his sorrows in a different point of view. This is what he tweeted:
"Sad' isn't the word I'd use to describe a 46-year-old man throwing his life away to drugs 'Senseless' is more like it. 'Stupid".

After this tweet, there was sudden public outcry on twitter and his remarks were condemned by most of the fans. The 31-years-old star then swiftly removed the tweet, but in vain, as it was already picked up by a number of media sources, who published the tweet right away.

After realizing that he had made most of the followers angry, he tried to make clear what he meant by that tweet. He tweeted again saying, "I didnt mean PSH is stupid or that addiction isnt a reality. I simply meant I have a different definition of 'tragedy.' When I think 'tragedy,' I think of St Judes, of genocide, of articles I read in the paper. But, yes, either way, a death, is sad."

Padalecki was not the only one whose tweet was taken out of context and was condemned for such remarks. Star Trek: The Next Generation star LeVar Burton was also among the people who described the insensitive reality about the way the 46-years-old actor died. He wrote, “Damn, PSH was SO talented. However, if y’all should find me dead with a needle in my arm, in my underwear, please put my pants on!” After a large number of critical tweets by the angry followers about his insensitive comment, he reacted with the tweet, saying “Lash out at me if you want to…I ain’t going out like that!”

As it has been confirmed that Hoffman died due to overdose of drugs with needle in his arm, therefore, some celebrities are being critical while expressing their distress over the death.

What do you think about the critical remarks of Padalecki and Burton?
