First Batch of Presenters Has Been Announced for the Upcoming 2014 Golden Globes Awards


Hollywood Foreign Press Association has publicized the initial group of presenters for 2014 Golden Globes that is going to held on Sunday. There are 10 Hollywood's one of the biggest stars in the initial set of presenters including Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Downey Jr., Kevin Bacon, Julie Bowen, Laura Dern, Colin Farrell, Mila Kunis, Uma Thurman, Jimmy Fallon and Reese Witherspoon. The announcement for Uma Thurman, Kevin Bacon, Laura Dern, Robert Downey Jr., Julie Bowen, and Mila Kunis was made through the official website of Golden Globes, while Reese Witherspoon, Jimmy Fallon, Jennifer Lawrence and Colin Farrell were announced through the Facebook.

The Golden Globes ceremony combines films and TV shows to commemorate the success in both genres. Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) gives awards, which are often termed as a pioneer to the Oscars awards, the utmost success in movie.

Kunis was nominated for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in 2011. Witherspoon, Lawrence, Farrell, Bacon, Dern, Downey Jr. and Thurman all of them have won Golden Globe Awards. Dern was Miss Golden Globe in 1982. Among all these celebrities, only Lawrence has been nominated for an award under Best Supporting Actress category for her brilliant performance in American Hustle.


Steve McQueen’s “12 Years a Slave” and David O. Russell’s “American Hustle” are at the top of the movie nominations list with 7 mentions. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender and Lupita Nyong'o are nominated for best performance in “12 Years a Slave”, while Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Bradley Cooper are nominated for American Hustle. As far as TV shows are concerned, “House of Cards” and “Behind the Candelabra” are at the top of the nominations list with 4 mentions each.

TV show “Orange Is the New Black” has also been nominated, while “The Wolf of Wall Street” has notched up a number of nods in the films categories as well.

The comedy stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the ceremony for the second successive year and show will be aired live on NBC from the Beverly Hilton. Fey and Poehler have also been signed for the 2015 show. More than 192 countries will watch this ceremony, which is created by Dick Clark Productions in collaboration with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, supervised by President Theo Kingma
