Jonah Hill’s Titanic Moment with Leonardo DiCaprio in 'SNL' Monologue

Looks like "The Wolf of Wall Street" sparked a great friendship between two Oscar nominated stars Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio, as Jonah roped in his pal Leo to assist him in hosting Saturday Night Live for the third time last night. After few minutes into the opening monologue of the show by Jonah, Leo made a surprise appearance to rein in his co-star’s weak ego and reprove him for attempting to behave like a VIP, and then Jonah asked Leo to boost his confidence by re-enacting the well-known scene from Titanic. Jonah spread his arms like Rose did in Titanic, Leo groped him from behind and then Jonah asked, “Am I flying Jack”? And Leo replied, “Yes you are flying Rose”.

When the show kicked off, Jonah faced a series of questions about the Leo from the audience, which incited a defensively bigheaded gush from the 30-year-old star.

“I call up Marty Scorsese, I say, ‘Marty its JH. I’m ready to get in the ring together.’ He says, ‘Finally,’” Hill described after getting to his breaking point. “Then I say, ‘Should we get DiCaprio on board?’ And Marty says, ‘I don’t know if he can handle it. Sure, he’s a movie star and puts teenage girls in the seats. But we need a real actor like you.’”

Jonah’s mind-set swiftly altered when Leo appeared on stage. Leo berated him and advised him to be “humble” and “gracious,” as he is a “real actor now.” Jonah then requested Leo, saying “Remember when we were on set and I’d great really nervous? Can we do the thing that we did every time? The thing that made me feel safe.”

Leo unenthusiastically concurred, and hugged him from behind while Jonah opened his arms, with “My Heart Will Go On” music running in the background.

Both actors were nominated for Golden Globes Awards for their outstanding performance in Wolf of Wall Street. Leo won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Film (Musical or Comedy), while Jonah lost the award for best supporting actor. Now both actors have been nominated for Academy Awards in their respective categories. According to various media sources, Leo is the most favorite for Oscars this year.

What do you think about Jonah Hill’s performance as a show host and sudden appearance of Leonardo? Do you think Leo will finally win Oscar award this time?
