Ant-Man’s Release Date Switched to Previous Release Date of Batman vs Superman

With the change of release date (May 6, 2016) of Warner Bros. DC Comic movie Superman vs Batman, director Edgar Wright of Marvel’s “Ant-Man” (starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym) has taken the advantage to move film's launch date to July 17, 2015. Previously, “Ant-Man” was scheduled to be released on June 26, 2015, but it has been changed and will now open 2 weeks earlier than planned, following the news of change in release date of Superman vs Batman.

Paul Rudd has been announced to play the role of Scott Lang, then later it was confirmed that Michael Douglas is going to play the role of original Ant-Man Hank Pym. As per some latest rumors and news, Michael Pena and Clifton Collins Jr. are also being considered to play specific roles in the Marvel film.

This is in fact the 2nd big launch date change that Marvel did with the Ant-Man film. After several years of advancement, Marvel ultimately put the project on their launch time-frame for previously in October 2012, choosing November 6 2015 as the release date, but that decision was changed in September when the film made the jump to the summer smash hit season. In
the latest release date, the movie will compete with Warner Bros.’ Peter Pan directed by Joe Wright, but it will also face tough competition with the launch of the Despicable Me follow-up Minions and Trainwreck directed by Judd Apatow, which are scheduled to be released on July 10 and July 24 respectively in the same year.

It's just a 2 week move, so many experts think that the new launch date will don’t have any impact on Ant-Man's production program, but all the aspects are getting ready to start earlier than expected. However, lead actress for the film has not been announced or confirmed so far. Which actress will be perfect to play the role of Janet Van Dyne (also known as Wasp); the hunt is still going on. According to various rumors in the media circle, it has been suggested that Rashida Jones and Bryce Dallas Howard are both under consideration to play the role, but thinking about Rashida’s latest TV show and Bryce's busy schedule with film Jurassic World, perhaps neither of them will play the role.

Not much has been told regarding the film’s plot at the moment. However, it has been confirmed that the screenplay will be written by Joe Cornish who also directed well admired aliens film Attack The Block.

Are you excited for Ant-Man?
