After ten years since the first film was launched, Brad Bird has spoken about whether or not there would be a sequel for superhero animation film "Incredibles" many times, and he has been very honest about it. The issue was always with creating a most satisfying script that was worth telling the story with those greatly admired characters. It would be quite simple to produce a number of films in a routine or monotonous way where we just expend time with Bob, Helen, Dash, Violet, and the extremely weird Jack, a family of undercover superheroes, while struggling to live normal uptown life, are compelled to use their super powers in order to save the world.
After immense success of comedy animation "The Iron Giant" and "Family Dog", Brad Bird rose to fame from “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”. He is known for various other classical animation films including “Ratatouille”. He has great talent of telling great comedy animation stories. He intends to create things that make people say ‘wow’.
Bird has developed a huge fan base in short time and his films have also found a wide range of audiences. He has the potential to come up with film content the way he needs and the way audience admires. He is currently working on Mystery Sci-Fi "Tomorrowland" which has already become very highly anticipated film. Besides, he is also directing a crime drama “1906.
He had said several times that the reason he couldn’t work on the sequel of The Incredibles is that he didn't have the right idea for it. But, now it has been confirmed that "The Incredibles 2" is really happening. It means Bird at last got a real story to tell, and this is great news. According to various rumors in media circles, Pixar may continue this project without Bird's involvement. But, I think that’s not going to happen.
Hopefully, soon we will have more details about the sequel, and we certainly can’t wait to see what Bird has to present this year or maybe next year. Are you excited to watch the sequel of “The Incredibles”? What is your favorite Brad Bird?
