“Rush” film star Olivia Wilde seemed to be coming back to television with a full-time new show!
She has just been announced to play a lead role in extremely anticipated pilot for HBO’s untitled rock 'n' roll drama, which is created by famous director Martin Scorsese and Terence Winter, who also created Boardwalk Empire. Both will also work as executive producers in association with rock 'n' roll legend, Mick Jagger.
The prospective hour-long TV show revolves around the punk and disco music industry in 1970s New York and will kick off production in few months with Breaking Bad’s George Mastras as showrunner.
Set in 1970s New York, the pilot will show the influence of the drugs and sex on the music industry as punk and disco were the trendiest music of that time. The story will be explained through the eyes of a record executive struggling to save his label and look for a creative sound.
Bobby Cannavale has also been announced to play lead role as Richie Finestra, the creator and president of a top-tier record label with a skills of finding out talent who experiences a disaster of character when dealt with a life-changing choice. Olivia will play the role of Devon Finestra, Richie's wife, an ex- actress/model who lived a Bohemian life. Richie's predicaments damage their relation and drive her to revive her earlier way of life.
Olivia comes back to the TV after she appeared as Remy "Thirteen" Hadley in last 4 seasons of Fox's House. She rose to fame from her gorgeous appearance in Rush, Tron Legacy, and recently Oscar nominated film Her.
Olivia seemed quite excited about this opportunity, as she shared the news on Twitter and disclosed that she "could not be more psyched" to team up with the Scorsese's latest HBO project. According to the insiders, production of the show is projected to kick off in a couple of months, providing the very pregnant actress quite significant time to get ready for the role after the delivery of her baby.
After getting divorce from an Italian filmmaker and musician Tao Ruspoli in 2011, Olivia started dating “We are the Millers” actor Jason Sudeikis, and they were engaged in 2013. At the end of 2013, she revealed that she and his fiancé are expecting their first baby boy whose projected date of arrival is May 4.
So, are you excited to see her in new TV show?
