Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston Wanted to Play Lex Luthor, But He Was Never Offered

Well, now it’s quite a surprise for Breaking Bad Fans that Bryan Cranston is actually very much interested in playing Superman’s arch-nemesis “Lex Luthor” and has recently revealed that how much he wanted to play this role in upcoming Batman vs Superman film. Cranston has made a huge fan-base around the world and won prevalent critical acclaim for his iconic role of Walter White in Breaking Bad. It has recently been revealed that he was greatly associated with playing the iconic comic book bad character in the sequel to Man Of Steel, but “Now You See Me” star Jesse Eisenberg seemingly beat Cranston for this role.

There were a lot of rumors recently regarding the choice of Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor in Upcoming Man of Steel sequel. Many people thought that Bryan was first offered the role to play Lex Luthor prior to casting of Jesse Eisenberg. However, Bryan Cranston set the record straight about rumors on "The Howard Stern Show". He simply said that he would have welcomed the offer to play Lex Luthor, but the fact is that he was never offered for such role.

Talking to Howard Stern on SiriusXM satellite radio regarding the demand from a great number of admirers for his choice as Lex Luthor, Bryan said: "I was not involved in any of that whatsoever. Oh, oh, I would have welcomed it."

"In the minds of fans, it's true," he further said, citing the demands from admirers for him to be casted as Lex Luthor. "In the minds of the hierarchy of Warner Brothers, it's not true."

Director Zack Snyder has responded to critics about his casting selections in the movie and said: "We're casting according to what's happening in the script. We're hoping that leads to enough originality, enough perspective on what we’re doing that you get something fresh and exciting. I understand the canon. I’m not crazy. I know what these characters need from a mythological standpoint. I think Jesse is going to be an amazing Lex. Let's not forget he was nominated for an Academy Award. It’s not like I just grabbed my friend to play the guy! This guy's the real deal."

It was lately disclosed that launch date of Man of Steel sequel has been delayed once again by almost a year. It is now projected to be released on May 6, 2016. Previously, it was set to release in summer 2015.
