The first trailer of the Academy Awards 2014 has been launched and is directed by Bridesmaids' Paul Feig. Wearing a tuxedo, Ellen DeGeneres sings and dances through the promo along with many tuxedo-clad dancers.
The promo has been shot on the studio of Warner Bros. Feig has declared that he tried to deliver a message that attracts all the people to come to the Oscars this year.
DeGeneres made a witty remark about the trailer, as she said, "Paul Feig has a reputation of being hilarious and nice and smart and I thought this was a great idea. I loved it. And I want to be in Bridesmaids 2, so two plus two - great Oscar promo, Bridesmaids 2, cher-ching!"
DeGeneres had already officially announced through her twitter account few months back that she was selected to host the Academy Awards 2014. Actually, it is quite early to be discussing the Oscars, as the award show is yet four months away, taking place on Sunday, March 2, 2014 while nomination will be announced on January 16, 2014. The voting for the nominations has not even been started yet. But when the initial look of the upcoming award show is this delightful and compelling, it’s hard to nitpick much.
The trailer features Ellen singing and dancing on Fitz and The Tantrums‘ “The Walker” and slowly walking with 250 dancers with exaggerated movements of the hips and shoulders. It’s a charming short promo that has already gone viral on social media networks and is greatly being admired by the viewers. The next award show with Ellen’s appeal is expected to be quite hilarious and absolute entertaining unlike the previous year’s Oscar show that was hosted by Seth MacFarlane who had become edgy or contentious. Ellen as a host of Academy Awards is safe enough for the adult audience as well as cool enough for the teenage audience. Primarily, she is an amusing in a bright and optimistic way.
Ellen had faced a little criticism for being a little too ostentatious when she previously hosted Academy Awards in 2007, but everyone admits that she had provided many memorable entertaining moments. Hopefully, she will prove to be a great host for upcoming show as well. Her latest promo has turned out to be very promising so far.
