“Game of Thrones” is Most Pirated Show of the Year: Tops “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead”

However, it is still doing great abroad and has succeeded to get over $400 million throughout the world, counting $96 million globally during this weekend.

The Paramount Pictures comedy “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues”, which is released 9 years after the first film and stars Will Ferrell as TV newsman Ron Burgundy, opened robustly at 2nd position at the box office, getting $26.8 million during the 3-day weekend and $40 million so far. It had really topped "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" on Friday, but was unsuccessful to retain its position on weekend. Paramount had initially declined Anchorman 2 which is actually made for around $50 million. Universal Pictures has rescheduled the release date of "Fast and Furious 7" from July 11, 2014 to April 10, 2015 following a delay in the middle of production because of the demise of actor Paul Walker in a Valencia car crash on November 30. It seems that the Fast & Furious franchise cast is ultimately set to start moving on from Walker’s tragic death.

“Dredd” Producers are considering a Remake of “I Saw the Devil”

The producers of the movie “Dredd” has announced that they are working on remake of the Korean vengeance thriller “I Saw the Devil” that was launched in 2010 and was directed by Kim Jee-Woon. Although there are various Korean revenge movies, but “I Saw the Devil” is a masterpiece of cinema with a unique revenge tale that revolves around a ruthless sadistic serial killer (played by Choi Min-sik of “Oldboy”) and a highly trained secret agent (Lee Byung-hun, “G.I. Joe”). The latest victim of the serial killer happens to be the fiancée of secret agent who turns the tables on the killer and blurs the line between good and immorality in seeking vengeance, inexorably hunting the killer to make sure that he faces same fear and pain he imparted in his victims. So, the story turns into a cat and mouse chase while the roles of cat and mouse keep switching.

It is a character-driven film instead of a plot-driven, as there is no secrecy of the murderer’s individuality which is exposed in the start of the movie. With both antagonist and protagonist resorting to evil ways to defeat one another, we see a tale of extreme revenge, police investigative procedures and killing spree in startling and breathtaking new ways.

The evil at play is so insidious that even those in the purview of the agent's pursuit of seeking revenge have their lives considerably distorted or ruined. This absolutely convincing and skillfully told story keep the audiences at the edge of their seats.

Shankar said: “Kim Jee-Woon’s ’I Saw the Devil’ is perfect in so many ways. The intention is not to remake the film per se, but rather to “port” it for international audiences.”

Many moviegoers have to say that the English Version may not prove to be as impressive as original film, but most of people have appreciated the an English version remake of “I Saw the Devil”.

The First Trailer of Much Anticipated Movie “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” Arrives

Moviegoers, particularly those who earlier loved the Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), should brace themselves as they are going to experience some serious ape business on July 11, 2014. The trailer of the sequel “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” has finally been launched, in which we just have glimpses of small bits of the action, but one thing is sure that Caesar (played by Andy Serkis) is very annoyed over humans and goes to war. Plus, it seems from the first look of the trailer that humans have already been defeated to some extent, they have lost electricity and now dwelling in the forest ruins of San Francisco.

This sequel is a straight prolongation of the Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), wherein the scientist Will Rodman (James Franco) unintentionally played a significant role to the collapse of civilization by creating a tentative Alzheimer’s drug that was accidentally leaked from his lab infecting and killing many people, but it genetically enhanced the intelligence of apes. Meanwhile, Caesar had escaped from the prison and exposed his fellow apes to that drug in order to boost their intelligence and lead them to shelter in the Redwood jungle, near San Francisco.

In Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (that seemingly won’t come with characters of James Franco and Fareida Pinto), Caesar has turned out to be a leader among apes, while the scattered and destabilized leftovers of civilization endeavor to stay alive in a world where they are not the prevailing class anymore. Species of both sides struggle to have a truce, even as the drums of complete battle start to beat louder and we see the Caesar, clad in war paint, all set to signal his army to launch an attack on humans.

This Planet of the Apes Franchise has included the most advanced digital FX technology, showing smart apes as very realistic characters for the first time in cinema history. The second part will most likely be very entertaining just like the first one that was huge success on the box office.

Matt Reeves took the responsibility to direct the sequel following up the first film that was directed by Rupert Wyatt. Reeves promises to deliver a great thrilling as well as emotional film, as he said, “I wanted to make sure we’re continuing to go along the path of evolution without missing it, it was so delicious to watch in the first movie. It’s not like now they are talking in verse. Hopefully the movie is emotional and thrilling as you watch the apes come into being.”

Joaquin Phoenix to play Lex Luther in “Batman vs. Superman”?

As per various media sources, it has been reported that Oscar-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix is under consideration of Warner Bros. for the role of villain in the upcoming DC Superhero Movie “Batman vs. Superman” and most likely he would be selected for the role of film's antagonist Lex Luthor.

Joaquin Phoenix has most recently played a phenomenal character of Theodore in the Spike Jonze’s Drama Comedy “Her”. The talks between the actor and the Warner Bros. are still underway, but it is not clear whether he would accept the role or not, as he has recently been avoiding mega-budget films since the last few years, and inclining more towards the films that have a more prestige sense. Phoenix is also considering various other offers for diverse movies and is suspected that he would accept the offer for the role in movie “Sea of Trees”.

However, after all this rumor, there is still no comment from the Warner Bros. and Joaquin Phoenix and it has yet to be confirmed by various reliable sources that for which particular role he is being considered. Before this rumor, Bryan Cranston was in talks with Warner Bros. for the role of super villain, but he turned down.

On various social media platforms, Phoenix is already being considered as well-respected but extremely unorthodox choice for the main antagonist role. The actor has acclaimed immense recognition and admiration for his role as a villain (Commodus) in one of the most top rated movies “Gladiator”. Keeping that in mind, many DC fans believe that he would prove to be a great villain in “Batman vs. Superman”.

The film will be launched in 2015, but all media platforms are already abuzz with the choices being made for the different characters of the movie. President Obama Admires TV Series “House of Cards” and the Character Played by Kevin Spacey

President Barack Obama seems to be a fan of the Netflix series House of Cards, which succeeded overwhelmingly with Washington when the first season went viral around the world last year, and now the second season is set to launch on Feb. 14, 2014 while the trailer has already been released.

On Teusday Morning, President Obama invited the CEOs of tech industries to the White House to talk about the disturbed start up of Obamacare website Healthcare.gov and National Security Agency's (NSA) litigious surveillance strategies. Before starting the meeting at the roundtable, Obama said “I’m just wondering if Netflix CEO Reed Hastings brought advance copies of House of Cards,” as can be seen in a pool camera video of the official meeting being circulated in various media sources.

There was quite amusing environment for a moment, as the CEOs chuckled and lightheartedly offered President Obama to appear as a Cameo in the TV series that is based on American Politics and revolves around a power-hungry Congressman Francis Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey) who teams up with his likewise manipulative wife to get things done even if they have to resort to the extreme  violence and treachery.

“You willing to do a little cameo?” asked one of the tech industry leaders.

However, President avoided to answer about the offer and he continued to praise the show saying, “I wish things were that ruthlessly efficient. It’s true. It’s like Kevin Spacey, man this guy’s getting a lot of stuff done.”

(Spoiler Alert!) By "ruthlessly efficient", President Obama refers to the ruthless character of Congressman Francis Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey) who really kills one of his fellow senators Peter Russo (played by Corey Stoll), manipulates media persons and involves himself in a continuous stream of deceit and exploitation for "getting a lot of stuff done."

President Obama’s remarks on “House of Cards” and admiration for Kevin Spacey’s deceitful House Majority Whip character may further help to spark the popularity of the show and compell the people to start watching it. However, it turns out that President Obama is not the only well-known DC resident to be an admirer of the show and the character Francis Underwood, this outstanding show has been much loved by a number of other prominent politicians since its launch in the start of year 2013.

With more than 0.82 million albums sold within first 3 days of launch, Beyonce's latest self-titled album has turned out to be the highest and fastest sold album per week on iTunes, breaking all previous iTunes Store's records.

On Thursday, after nearly a year of gossips about the launch of her 5^th solo album, Beyonce rush launched her new album on iTunes in a surprise and game-changing move without any advertising or earlier notice to the media or her fans around the world.

As per a number of reliable media sources, Beyonce sold more than 0.61 million downloads within short span of three days. The album includes 14 songs and 18 additional videos. Taylor Swift's Red had set the last 1-week iTunes record with more than 0.46 million sales in 2012, but now it has been broken by Beyonce.

The music industry follows sales per week (from Monday to Sunday), so Beyonce's sales for 3 days (Friday to Sunday) are being compared to the 7 days of sales of Taylor Swift's Red which was launched on Monday.

In addition, Beyonce's iTunes release also set a record for the fastest one week digital sales -- including all digital sellers. However, it stands at 2^nd place after the Lady Gaga's Born This Way that sold above 0.66 million downloads in 1st week.

iTunes Store listed the album for sale at $15.99. The gallant non-promotional and surprise strategy has certainly yielded a great profit in both internet buzz and highest number of sales, with “Beyonce” actually assured to be her fifth successive No. 1 debut on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.

With this surprise album launch, Beyonce has exceeded her last high records set when her album "B'Day" got above 0.541 million sales in 2006. At last, Beyonce grabs the largest sales week of the year 2013.

Earlier, new Beyonce album was projected to be launched in 2014, and was considered to be a more usual project with a usual launch. We Have Lost Another Legend! Oscar-Winning Actress Joan Fontaine

We are much grieved to report that we have lost another legendary and brilliant Hollywood actress. As per the media sources, Joan Fontaine, who ascended to fame and glory in the 1940s for her roles in the phenomenal director Alfred Hitchcock’s classical movies like Rebecca (1940) and Suspicion (1941), passed away yesterday at her residence in Carmel, California. She died due to some natural causes at the age of 96, as some reliable media sources reported.

She was very recognized, beautiful and charming celebrity and one of the best actresses of her time. She was also well-known for her roles in various TV dramas like Ryan's Hope (1980) and G.E. True Theater (1956-61). As an actress, she was also very reputed for her competition with her older sister Olivia de Havilland who was also a brilliant actress at that time. Like her sister, Joan also wanted to be an actress. Her career started with MGM and then got a small role in the film No More Ladies (1935) in which she was hardly perceived. After that, she didn’t work for a year and a half, but her Olivia was having much more success in movies at that time.

In 1937, she got a better role as Trudy Olson in You Can't Beat Love and after that she got various prominent roles for the next two years. She acquired her first Oscar nomination for Rebecca (1940). Many admirers considered her as the winner, but she had lost out to the actress Ginger Rogers. However, her film Rebecca won the Best Picture Award. Joan now had turned out to be a recognized part of the Hollywood set. She was again nominated for Oscar, along with her sister Olivia, for her role as Lina McLaidlaw Aysgarth opposite Cary Grant in Suspicion (1941), and this time she stole the show. After that, Joan was carefully landing in the movies once in a year.

Her back-to-back successes in the Hollywood continued and she garnered her third Oscar nomination for the best actress for her role Tessa Sanger opposite Charles Boyer in novel-based movie The Constant Nymph (1943).The other well-known movies of Joan Fontaine are Jane Eyre (playing lead role with Orson Welles) and the September Affair (1950) with Joseph Cotton.

'Hobbit' Takes Over Top Spot at US Box Office

LOS ANGELES, CA: Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” grabbed the top spot at U.S. theaters with $73.7 million, beating previous weekend’s top movie, Disney’s “Frozen.”

Disney’s kids fable “Frozen” held stoutly and melted down to $22.3 million in its 3^rd weekend, increasing its domestic total after 3 weeks to almost $165 million. It effortlessly beat out Lionsgate’s “Tyler Perry’s a Madea Christmas,” which earned $16.2 million, for the 3^rd spot.

Lionsgate’s another movie, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” pulled in $13.2 million for the 4^th, and is at $357 million locally. To date, “Catching Fire,” grosses hit $739 million, exceeding box office total for “The Hunger Games,” which pulled in almost $700 million. Another Disney’s film, “Thor: The Dark World,” stayed in the top 5 with $2.7 million, raising its domestic total to nearly $200 million.

Regardless of its No.1 spot, “Hobbit” failed to top its prequel’s debut. “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” which pulled in $1.07 billion this same weekend last year, with above $710 million of that coming from foreign markets.

“Smaug” would have scored even higher were it not for a severe storm that hit the East Coast on Friday night, keeping lots of fans at their houses.

 ““Of course, it could have been a little better, but the weather back East was really tough last night and probably took a couple million dollars out of my pocket.,” said Dan Fellman, domestic distribution chief at Warner Bros.

Domestically, “Hobbit” sequel reaped the max benefits from premium 3D rates, together with high-frame-rate. 49% of the total gross came from 3D, while all the leading 10 grossing cinemas showed the movie in IMAX, which pulled in $9 million. It is not confirmed since when she is pregnant, but the source stated that MTV, which runs the show Teen Mom 2, has already recorded her doctor's cooperation for season 5 and that it has been planned to make her pregnancy as a part of her next storyline.

Her boyfriend Griffith also has a two-years-old daughter, Emery, from an earlier relationship. To turn this state of affairs even more attention-grabbing, Evans is still lawfully wedded to Courtland Rogers, who is now in jail, and E! News has found out that they are not planning to have a divorce.

Some rumors and news were circulating about Jenelle’s immense drinking and smoking habits few days back. But, many of her friends has said that she had left all such stuff as soon as she came to know about her pregnancy and is planning to leave all drinking and smoking in the future.

Jenelle, whose endeavors with substance abuse are infamous, has stated that she knows people evaluate her for that, but will continue to ignore them and will prove them wrong.
